Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 23, 2026

Overview

Loot ("we", "our", or "the app") is a video color grading application for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Email Address

We collect your email address when you create an account. This is used solely for authentication (signing in via one-time passcode). Your email is stored securely by our authentication provider, Supabase.

Photos & Videos

Loot accesses your photo library to import videos for color grading and to save exported videos. All video processing happens entirely on your device. We never upload, transmit, or store your photos or videos on any server.

Subscription Data

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive subscription status and product information needed to unlock paid features and measure trial or subscription conversions. We do not receive or store your payment card or bank account details.

Product Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how Loot is used and improve its features. It may collect app interactions, session and performance information, app and device characteristics, app-instance or vendor identifiers, subscription events, approximate location inferred from a masked IP address, and a pseudonymous Loot account identifier. We do not send Firebase your email address, filenames, file paths, URLs, free-form text, photos, or videos.

Crash Diagnostics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and non-fatal errors. Diagnostic reports may include stack traces, error codes, app state, and app, device, and operating-system information. We sanitize the diagnostic context we add and do not intentionally include user media, email addresses, filenames, file paths, or free-form text.

Our Commitments

  • Your imported and exported media stays on your device
  • We do not collect precise location
  • We do not collect Apple's advertising identifier
  • We do not sell personal data
  • We do not use collected data for cross-app advertising tracking

Third-Party Services

Supabase — Used for account authentication only. Supabase stores your email address and authentication tokens. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

Apple StoreKit — Used for subscription management. Apple processes all payments. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Google Firebase — Used for product analytics, app performance measurement, and crash diagnostics. See Firebase's Privacy and Security documentation.

Meta (legacy app versions) — Versions distributed before the Firebase-only analytics update may use Meta App Events for limited acquisition and conversion measurement. Advertising identifier collection was disabled in those versions. The build submitted on August 23, 2026 removes the Meta SDK. See Meta's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account in Loot or request deletion using the contact information below. Analytics and diagnostics are retained according to our service-provider settings and may remain in aggregated or de-identified form after account deletion.

Children's Privacy

Loot is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
